Empowerment Program for Women-Led Farming Groups in West Mamprusi Municipal (AgriEmpower for Women)

As part of our commitment to promoting sustainable development and empowering local communities, Renel Ghana Foundation has extended support to five women-led farming groups in the West Mamprusi District of the North East Region. This initiative is aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and fostering financial independence among women especially women who are heads of their families.

Each of the selected groups has been provided with resources to cultivate groundnuts on five acres of land. The support includes assistance throughout the entire farming process, from ploughing to planting, nurturing the crops, and finally, harvesting. By offering comprehensive aid, we aim to alleviate the challenges often faced by women in agriculture such as the difficulty to access credit facilities to expand their farms by enabling them to focus on maximizing yields and improving their livelihoods.

In addition to the agricultural support, Renel Ghana Foundation is delivering training sessions to equip these women with essential financial literacy skills. The focus is on teaching them how to manage their savings effectively, using savings books as a tool for financial tracking and planning. The training is designed to empower the women to build financial resilience, enabling them to reinvest in their farms, support their families, and achieve greater independence in their economic activities.

Through this initiative, the Foundation not only strengthens local agricultural practices but also contributes to the broader goal of promoting gender equity and financial inclusion in rural communities.
