Health
Reproductive And Sexual Health Rights
Child marriage, Female Genital Mutilation, Teenage Pregnancy, Menstrual Hygiene &Myths and Access to reproductive health Services are our SRHR focus. Our research and programs emphasize the interrelated factors that enable women, men, and youth to make informed decisions about their reproductive and sexual health. Some programs increase the availability of safe and affordable contraceptive methods. Other programs provide confidential and culturally sensitive counseling on family planning and prevention of sexually transmitted infections and HIV. Our programs help ensure that young girls and women have the personal strength and confidence they need to control their reproductive lives. We work within a network of partners to combat gender-based violence, and we build support structures within families and communities to influence decision-making.
HIV
Renel Ghana Foundation combats HIV by challenging harmful gender norms and social practices, such as early marriage, intergenerational sex, and sexual violence. They reduce gender inequality in programs for vulnerable children, address gender-related vulnerabilities, and support female caregivers through income-generation skills training.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene:
Renel Ghana Foundation works in all 16 regions of Ghana to help provide access to clean water and reliable sanitation, and to promote basic hygiene practices in rural and urban areas, including in emergency situations. We achieve better WASH results for children by Empowering communities, supporting schools, Humanitarian action, Increasing focus on sustainability and Partnerships.
EDUCATION
Our primary goal in education is to help Ghana fulfill the requirements set out in both international and local laws and policies in the direction of realizing Education for All.
As a result, we support the following educational policies and initiatives:
Complementary Basic Education
To guarantee that out of school children are enrolled in the CBE system and transferred to mainstream schools that would provide them with lifelong skills, we educate communities about Ghana’s complementary basic education program through policy reviews, research and training.
Inclusive Education Advocacy
We identify cases, and facilitate them to have functional assessments and sensitize communities on Ghana’s Inclusive Education Policy and its Minimum Standards and Guidelines to get communities, parents and traditional authorities to contribute to the effective implementation of the policy at the local level.
Technical and Vocational Education
Renel Ghana’s principal objective of TVET is to train youth and adults alike, readying them for the labour market. With technical revolution and innovations in science and technology, labour market needs have significantly evolved. New challenges must be met in order to match the education proposed with vocational demands
GENDER MAINSTREAMING AND SOCIAL INCLUSION
Renel Ghana Foundation’s effective strategies transform unequal power dynamics and gender and social norms for individuals who have been marginalized, including women, men, boys, girls, people with disabilities, racial and ethnic minorities.
Girl Education
Renel Ghana Foundation’s programs help remove barriers to girls’ access to relevant, high-quality education. We facilitate the transition from primary to secondary school (a time when many girls drop out) and improve their academic achievement and completion rates. In partnership with governments and other stakeholders, we implement education programs that address a range of issues, including basic literacy and numeracy, leadership and mentoring, curriculum design, school planning, parental involvement to ensure sustainability, gender-sensitive teacher training, provision of scholarships and supplies, and construction of schools that accommodate girls’ privacy needs.
Women and Girls Leadership
Renel Ghana Foundation promotes women and girls’ leadership skills by challenging societal norms and encouraging them to pursue leadership opportunities. Their projects empower mothers, increase women’s knowledge of their rights, and encourage them to become role models, ultimately fostering success in school, workforce, and life.
Women and Girls Empowerment
Women worldwide face higher poverty, abuse, and hardships than men, often being caregivers. Renel Ghana supports gender equality by promoting education, awareness creation, literacy, and training programs. They create groups for women and girls, teaching them to choose role models, build self-esteem, honor family traditions, celebrate girl power, and create art.
Gender-based Violence
Renel Ghana Foundation rescues adolescent girls and young women forced into early marriages, providing life-long skills for educational and career advancement. They create sector-appropriate programming to change social and cultural norms, addressing gender-based violence among school-age children. Through community radio, theater, and research, they raise awareness and equip local communities to promote positive gender norms.

Youth and Peace Building
Renel Ghana Foundation’s Bridge Media program trains young people to prevent, reduce, and transform conflict in families, communities, and countries. By fostering understanding, communication, and problem-solving through storytelling, youth can become powerful peace catalysts.
Youth Development and Engagement
Renel Ghana Foundation supports youth by helping them reach their full potential, laying a foundation for the future. Through collaborative programs, they equip them with tools for productivity and empowerment, creating environments where families and communities provide necessary security and self-worth.
CLIMATE CHANGE, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION and DISASTER MANAGEMENT
Training of Youth Support Groups, women formation of Environmental Protection and Conservation Clubs in schools and communities. We promote ecotourism, forest conservation, and land conservation. Land reclamation and restoration in the mining area. To respond to climate-induced water challenges, Renel Ghana Foundation staff use a range of technologies to develop and disseminate information and deploy communication systems for gathering weather information and sharing adaptation information. Renel Ghana Foundation staff have worked to build the knowledge base of agricultural extension workers through hands-on training on natural resource management, improving the productive capacity of the land and building a strong economic base for communities.
Emergencies
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought into focus the importance of pandemic preparedness and response. It is testing the strength of societies and health systems around the world and is currently among the highest priorities for RGF.
