Economic Empowerment for Women in Manfi-Anfoe

On September 14, 2024, Renel Ghana Foundation (RGF) hosted a skill training and donation event in the Manfi-Anfoe community of the Volta Region, benefiting 52 women. The initiative, focused on economically empowering women and supporting household livelihoods, particularly in women-headed homes, combined practical training with resource distribution to foster sustainable development.

The event featured a hands-on training session in liquid soap production, equipping participants with practical skills for domestic use and income generation. This initiative aligns with RGF’s commitment to gender equality, poverty reduction, and sustainable development. Interactive demonstrations ensured that every participant could confidently begin soap production independently. In addition to the training, RGF provided used clothing and electric sewing machines to select participants, supporting their efforts to establish small businesses. The donations were warmly received, with participants expressing gratitude for the Foundation’s ongoing support of their economic and social well-being.

This initiative had a transformative impact on the women of Manfi-Anfoe. By acquiring soap-making skills, they now have a viable means to generate income and contribute to their households’ financial stability. The Foundation’s support highlights its dedication to empowering marginalized groups and fostering self-sufficiency in rural areas.

While the training provided the women with new opportunities, they raised concerns about accessing materials for soap production due to their remote location and limited financial resources. Renel Ghana Foundation assured the community of its commitment to collaborating with local authorities to make materials available at subsidized rates. This support aims to ensure the sustainability of the skills acquired, enabling the women to effectively use their training for income generation and household support.

Renel Ghana Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to the District Assembly, volunteers, participants, and the Manfi-Anfoe community for their cooperation in making this initiative a success. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward creating empowered and equitable communities.
