Renel Covid-19 Social Intervention And Sensitization Campaign

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, when lockdowns and economic disruptions left many vulnerable households with little to no access to food, Renel Ghana Foundation sprang into action to provide vital sustenance to those in dire need.

As the world grappled with the unprecedented health and economic challenges posed by the global health crisis, the underprivileged communities(slums) in our city (Accra) were hit the hardest. With job losses, reduced incomes, and limited social safety nets, many families found themselves on the brink of starvation, unable to afford basic necessities, let alone nutritious meals.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, RGF mobilized its resources and networks to establish emergency hot meal distribution across the city. Leveraging our deep understanding of the local communities and unwavering commitment to social welfare, we quickly identified the neighborhoods and households most affected by the pandemic-induced hardships.

Through a well-coordinated effort, the NGO’s volunteers fanned out, delivering essential food supplies to the doorsteps of those in need. RGF efforts went beyond just providing food but not limited to recognizing the importance of maintaining dignity and fostering a sense of community. We also distributed personal hygiene kits, including soap, sanitizers, and masks, to help the underprivileged families protect themselves against the virus.

As the pandemic continues to evolve, RGF remains committed to its mission of supporting the underprivileged and bringing smiles on the faces of people. The organization has plans to expand its food distribution programs, explore sustainable solutions to address long-term food security, and advocate for policy changes that prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable members of society
