Menstrual Hygiene
Renel Ghana Menstrual Hygiene is at the forefront of raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and ensuring access to sanitary pads for teenage girls across Ghana. As pioneers of the campaign for the removal of taxes on sanitary pads in the country, we recognize the significant impact that affordability has on girls’ education and overall well-being. Our current focus lies on conducting research to evaluate the effectiveness of tax removal on locally made sanitary pads in reducing female absenteeism in schools.
Studies have consistently highlighted the unfortunate reality that many girls miss school during their menstrual periods due to inadequate access to sanitary products. This issue is particularly pronounced among vulnerable populations, including girls without guardians who are striving to pursue education amidst challenging circumstances. The exorbitant prices of sanitary pads exacerbate this problem, making it difficult for these girls to stay in school and fulfill their academic potential. To address this urgent issue, we appeal for support to aid these children by either donating funds to purchase sanitary pads or contributing sanitary products to our pad banks, thereby ensuring that no girl misses out on education due to lack of access to menstrual hygiene resources. Together, we can empower these girls to stay in school, thrive academically, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
