Community Entry Exercise – Ada District, Greater Accra Region

Renel Ghana Foundation, under the Gender Rights and Empowerment Project (G‑REP) and supported by the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women, joined lead partner Songtaba to conduct a community entry exercise in Alorkpem, Azizanya and Ada Foah. The visit introduced G‑REP to traditional leaders and local stakeholders, opened constructive dialogue on the local drivers of intimate partner and gender‑based violence, and explored practical opportunities for collaboration.

    • Build trust and buy‑in for G‑REP activities.
    • Open dialogue on local drivers of intimate partner violence and gender‑based violence.
    • Identify collaboration opportunities with chiefs, opinion leaders and service providers.
  • Engagement: meetings with chiefs, opinion leaders, service providers and community groups to map needs and referral pathways.
  • Outcomes: leaders pledged support; potential community champions and referral routes were identified; follow‑up meetings and sensitisation activities were scheduled.
