Media Advocacy: Radio Universe Engagement
As part of advocacy efforts under the 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women, Renel Ghana Foundation, representing the SDG 5 Platform, engaged audiences on Radio Universe to raise awareness and strengthen collective action against violence targeting women and girls.
Purpose
- Mobilise families and communities to play active roles in prevention and protection.
- Highlight the rise of Sexual and Gender‑Based Violence (SGBV) and its impact on communities.
- Address digital violence and promote online safety for women and girls.
- Promote survivor‑centred support systems to ensure dignity and recovery.
- Strengthen accountability mechanisms across institutions and communities.
Activities delivered
- Radio discussion: live engagement with audiences on SGBV, digital safety, and survivor support.
- Expert facilitation: led by Mr. Benjamin Edward Abaidoo (Monitoring & Evaluation Officer) and Madam Barikisu Mahei (Regional Girls’ Advocate and Admin & Finance Officer).
- Awareness raising: practical insights shared on reporting pathways, accountability, and safeguarding.
- Community mobilisation: call to action for families, schools, and institutions to strengthen prevention.
