World Children’s Day Celebration – Old Lashibi
Under the theme “Listen to Children: My Day, My Rights,” Renel Ghana Foundation engaged pupils of Old Lashibi TMA Primary School to promote child rights, confidence, and participation.


The engagement created a safe and interactive space for children to learn about their rights, express their voices, and build confidence in claiming protection and participation.
Purpose
- Promote child rights awareness among pupils.
- Encourage children’s participation by amplifying their voices.
- Strengthen safeguarding practices through education.
- Reinforce inclusive development by centering children’s experiences.
Activities delivered
- Interactive discussions on rights to education, protection, and participation.
- Confidence‑building exercises to help children speak up.
- Rights education using child‑friendly materials.
- Feedback sharing where pupils expressed aspirations and challenges.
Outcomes and next steps
- Longer term: embed child participation and safeguarding into community development initiatives.
- Immediate: children demonstrated improved understanding of their rights and confidence in expressing themselves.
- Short term: integrate child rights discussions into routine school activities.
- Medium term: expand engagements to other schools in the district.
