Strengthening the GBV Response in Ekumfi District
Renel Ghana Foundation, in partnership with Songtaba and with support from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, successfully completed a Survivor‑Centered Care training for frontline service providers in Ekumfi District. The training strengthened multi‑agency coordination and practical skills for compassionate, timely responses to gender‑based violence.

Purpose
- Foster sustained inter‑agency collaboration and clear focal points for referrals.
- Build trauma‑informed capacity among health, protection and social welfare actors.
- Standardise referral and case‑management practices across agencies.
- Improve survivor safety and reintegration through coordinated psychosocial and protection responses.


Participants and roles
- Participants: district social welfare officers, DOVVSU officers, health clinicians, community protection volunteers, local NGO staff and district assembly representatives.
- Facilitators: Renel Ghana Foundation trainers, Songtaba technical advisors and guest resource persons from health, police and legal aid.
- Commitments: agencies nominated referral focal persons and agreed to pilot standard intake and referral tools.
