Radio Discussion on Type 1 Diabetes
Renel Ghana Foundation, in partnership with the Ada Health Directorate and with funding from Panorama Global through the T1D Community Fund, hosted a radio discussion to raise community awareness about Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The programme covered an overview of diabetes types, common signs and complications, and the importance of early detection and effective management, and encouraged listeners to seek timely diagnosis and care.
Overview
A live radio discussion reached community members across the Ada area, using accessible language and expert input to demystify diabetes, highlight differences between Type 1 and Type 2, and promote early screening and ongoing management for children and adults at risk.

- Educate the public on the differences between diabetes types and why T1D requires prompt attention.
- Raise awareness of common signs, symptoms and potential complications to support early recognition.
- Encourage timely care by explaining where and how to access screening, diagnosis and follow‑up services.
