The global drug problem is a multifaceted problem that has an impact on millions of people. Many drug users experience discrimination and stigma, which can worsen their physical and mental health and make it more difficult for them to get the assistance they require. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) understands the value of implementing drug policies that are people-centered, emphasizing compassion, human rights, and evidence-based practices.
